Two out of two
Carrick Rangers under 15 girls secured a five four win against a much improved Templepatrick side in this PDQ Solutions Invitational League fixture. After falling two behind early on new signing Hannah Sheffield scored her second in two weeks before Kelly Nicholl pounced to draw Carrick level. A twenty five yard free kick from Fawn Mulholland put Carrick ahead for the first time and further goals from Emma Boyd and Emma Murray secured the points in this highly entertaining game. Player of the Match went to Fawn Mulholland and there were also good performances from Jennifer Rodgers and Michelle Beggs. Emily Reid won the Player of the Match award for Templepatrick.

PDQ Invitation League Kicks Off
For the last couple of years, girls football leagues have been delivered as small sided games. This week marks the advent of a new 11 aside league sponsored by PDQ Solutions. The concept of the new league has been driven by parents and coaches at Carrick Rangers Football Club and John Mulholland, one of these parents and Director of PDQ Solutions says, "The emphasis within this Under 15 league has been placed on girls developing their football skills and not on winning at all costs. This is the first time the girls have played in an 11 aside league during the winter and it is very much a new venture for all of us".
The league includes Carrick Rangers, Donegal Celtic, Linfield, Lisburn Distillery, Northland Raiders and Templepatrick Alexandra. The opening game of the league is an exciting match up between Carrick Rangers and Donegal Celtic (Taylor's Avenue, KO 2pm), where IFA Chief Executive Mr Howard Wells will be in attendance.
